Application TXRF-Analysis

Ashing, Pasting and Plotting Preparation of Complex Sample Types for TXRF Analysis

TXRF is an ideal analytical method for aqueous samples with low matrix content. This paper has shown different sample preparation methods for a successful TXRF analysis of complex samples.

It is almost impossible to analyse certain samples by TXRF due to viscosity, high salt content or other limiting characteristics. However, this paper describes some preparation procedures of complex samples:

  • A fast microwave ashing procedure was applied to edible oils
  • Solar cells were pasted on an Al carrier for direct measurements
  • Sea water samples were prepared by using a newly developed dispensing device
